Placing single implants in the esthetic zone can be one of the most challenging treatment modalities. The purpose of this study was to compare peri-implant marginal bone loss, soft tissue response and esthetics over a 3 year period.

Study Results

Mean Bone Level

Previous clinical studies have shown that implants with a laser micro-textured collar surface provide opportunities for limited bone remodeling ^{6, 18}. Results from this study confirm that data, showing as little as -0.35mm crestal bone resorption.

Mean Papilla Gain

At the 3-year follow up examination the level of mesial and distal papilla was stable on the delayed treatment group. The immediate treatment group displayed a tendency for regrowth.
